Sphinx Guest House Giza
Stayed at Sphinx Guest House from 10-08-17 to 10-11-17. This place is great!! Keep in mind, this is not one of those fancy hotels. If you want a pool, room service then I suggest you go with them.
This is for the travelers! You have a clean bed and shower, close to local town and local food. Its located right across the Pyramids and Sphinx. You can see it from your bedroom window and the best part, you have a great view of these monuments from the rooftop. :) The people of this establishment are very nice. They have downstairs souvenir store and keep who watches the place, Ali, is very friendly. We would sit on outside chair, talk, people watch and have some tea. Also for a small price you can order breakfast and dinner, local style. If that's not your cup of tea, you can go across the street and sits there is a Pizza Hut AND Kentucky Fried Chicken! No lie! You can look it up! This is a great establishment and affordable as well.

Awesome
Arrived at Cairo International Airport and the driver was waiting with a sign with my name. On the way to the hotel I had the pleasure to listen to some awesome Egyptian music. Upon arrival I noticed that the pyramids and sphinx was so close it was overweening I was given a roof top room with the greatest view I can remember. The owner totally awesome and I enjoyed sitting and talking with him and his friends about how they grew up in the shadows of the sphinx and pyramids. Something I will carry for the rest of my life. His wife and daughter were just as awesome I had a chance to listen to his daughter tell me about her experience growing up there. I recommend this hotel to anyone who come to see the pyramids and sphinx. Also the owner is 9th generation living there which he informed me that "number9 was there when Napoleon came there

“Nice Hotel”
My wife and I stayed here in early May 2013. We decided to stay here due to the pictures of the view and were not disappointed. The location felt somewhat quieter (not saying it was quiet) than the other hotels we stayed at in Egypt. It was nice to be able to walk out of the hotel and get some Pizza Hut/KFC (don't judge me on that, by the end of our trip our stomachs were yearning for familiar food) and take the pizza to the rooftop to watch the sunset. Probably one of the best moments of my life.
Mr Gouda was absurdly hospitable. He asked if we needed any help with tours or anything, but we had already set up something with another company, and that was the last time he asked, so that was nice. We did arrange our airport pick up from him and the driver was right there when we stepped into the main lobby and we were ready to go. All in all, I thought it was a fine hotel. Management was
exceptional, view amazing, rooms clean and cold. I had a great time.

“What a view”

We stayed for one night at Gouda's Sphinx Guest House. Our host was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed very much the greatest view of the Sphinx and Pyramids that you can think of! We has our dinner and breakfast at the guest house and found sufficient space in the rooms and had a proper taxi arrangement to take us to our next destination. Great place to stay while visiting the Gizeh plateau. I would not recommend it for a longer stay.

“Fantastic”
An amazing place to stay! The building and rooms are clean and Ghouda who is the owner is extremely friendly and can help plan your travels throughout Egypt. He was great in telling me what I should pay for different things to ensure I didn't get taken advantage of (something that happens a lot in Egypt). He also told me about where was and was not safe to go which is important knowledge to have. Had a lot of fun and really enjoyed just talking to Ghouda about the history of Egypt and everything else. Ghouda treated me like a member of his family, a lot of people in Egypt will pretend to do this to try and get money but Ghouda was so genuine and never asked for any additional money. To anyone who is wondering he speaks english very well and does not have an accent so there were no communication issues. The view from this place is amazing, there is simply no better view. Great value for your money, they also have free internet (good quality).

“Wake up to a beautiful view”
My stay at the Sphinx Guest House was the 21st / 22nd of December 2012.
I got delayed at the airport by over an hour which the driver Zaki waited while I
filled in forms re lost luggage. Mr Gouda and his staff where more than helpful
during my stay ,they where on hand to assist me in whatever I needed in contacting the airline, booking onward flight, even down to going to the local shops for me.The views from the roof terrace are as you see in the photos on Sphinx Guest House page. amazing. As I have travelled to Egypt many times I know the ways of the people there and totally enjoy being in their country. It was also lovely to meet the other guests from around the world. I advise you get up for sunrise and dont miss sunset. Also the light show in the evening time was excellent. Some of the guest stayed up and watched the moon go down behind the Pyramids. Sadly I missed that due to tiredness.
Many thanks to Mr Gouda and his staff for helping make my stay a very good one. Shajaratul A

“A Jem in Egypt”

Our journey began at the airport where we were picked up by Zaki Fayed. The historical culture was explained in detail, he kept us very interested from the time we step into our ride to the Sphinx Guest House. On arrival at the Sphinx Guest House, Mr Gouda Fayed himself came to greet us and gave us the full explanation to everything we need to
begin our fabulous journey. The hospitality extended to his wonderful home, where we had been introduced to his loving Family. We planned our tour with Zaki (the son-in law), where he drove us in a fully air conditioned car in comfort. He always left us breathless as we could not have had a better experience in his guided tour.
The Accommodation was well above what we had expected, with the view from our room and the Lounge. The room was offered with large space, a bathroom, air conditioning, fan and Fridge/Freezer and WiFi all in working order. The Breakfast choice was with compliments to the Chef Ahmed, who came every morning to prepare our food at the times we had wished. Dinner was served with traditional foods every night, which left us
very satisfied.
Mr Gouda Fayed is guided by his spiritual upbringing, which makes you part of his family with the kindness, honesty and embraces you into his world. He gave everything possible from his heart to make our stay memorable. This Sphinx Guest House was definitely the best choice we had made,we spent most of our evenings on the roof watching the pyramid light show that was amazing as we are right in front of the pyramids.
Thanks to Gouda and his Family for the great hospitality. The guest house is
definitely a Jem in Egypt well worth visiting. We can't wait to come back.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed May 27, 2012
I just recently returned from a trip to Egypt. I was there is 4 other friends and we stayed at The Sphinx Guest House. When we first arrived the onwer Gouda Fayed met us and took us upstairs to our rooms where we were met with a huge lounge room and the most
amazing view. Our double room had 5 other beds inside and a view of the sphinx and pyramids. It got even better as we could go upstairs even further to the roof top and enjoy the full view of the pyramids and sphinx and we were able to sit there and enjoy a drink and shisha. The Sphinx Guest House for me was a home away from home and I can't wait to go back.

"Home in Egypt"
Had a most magical experience in Egypt - my friend and I stayed with Gouda Fayed at his family home the Sphinx Guest House - or as it is known in the neighborhood - Gouda's House. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room had it's own bath and the view of the Sphinx and pyramids was outstanding! We felt right at home as we stepped into the large social room on the 4th floor where we were able to visit with other guests and share in the simple foods offered by Mr. Fayed and his lovely wife. The rooftop patio was a great location to view the light show and watch the buzz of the street. Though we could only stay one night - we know there is no other place that would have afforded us the magical experience -
Thank you Gouda - it was great!

If you have ever wanted to go to Egypt this is the best
place in the world to have an Egypt experience. I have been partnering with
Gouda for my tours in Egypt for many years since 1997. His Sphinx Guest House
is the best view of the Great Pyramid, Sphinx, and Giza Plateau in all of the
area! His exceptional warm family really makes you feel as if you have come
home to Egypt and their friendly hospitality is beyond reproach, they are the
best!!! Do your selves a favor next time you are going to Egypt or are there go
see Gouda and The Sphinx Guest House. His prices are very reasonable too!
Better than a stuffy hotel. No hotel has the view that Gouda's has.

Dear Gouda,
I was at your house w/Debbie Johnson and four other women that first day in Cairo. Thank you for your generousity. I hope you and your family are doing alright. I have thought of you all often. People over here have heard you on NPR and were so excited because I have talked about you when I did a teleconference with the children at our school. Remember me videoing while I was on your roof. Do you mail your oils? If so I could drum up some business for you. I gave your oils as gifts to friends. They loved them. Once again Thank You for everything.

I had the privilege of staying at your guesthouse in 2009 with Sahra Saeeda. It was an unforgettable experience. You and your family and friends made us so welcome, and gave us a taste of the real Egypt. You made us feel like guests, not tourists. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I look forward to bringing my husband and daughter back there one day! Much love to you and your family.

My wife Nina and I stayed a few days at the Sphinx House with Gouda in August of
2001. It is still to this today the most memorable and spiritual vacation we have ever experienced. Gouda and his family treated us as family from the pick up at the airport until the day we departed. The sights and sounds of Egypt were wonderful, the love shown as guest were unmatched. My wife and I both had tears in our eyes as we pulled away from the Sphinx House with Gouda and his friends waving to us good bye. We still talk about this visit and long for the time when we will return.
